Headaches
Headaches plague many people from time to time. When this type of pain occurs, it often becomes difficult to accomplish even simple tasks causing many sufferers run to the medicine cabinet in the hopes of alleviating the discomfort. However, pills only bring temporary relief. Chiropractic care gets to the root of the problem instead of putting a Band-Aid on it.
Headaches can have many causes including sinus pressure, TMJ, allergies and tension. Tension headaches tend to be one of the more common types of headaches chiropractors see. Muscles around the head, neck, and skull are typically tight, and pain sometimes shoots from the neck to the head. Muscle inflammation, joint swelling, and/or vertebral compression are often responsible for this type of headache. A careful analysis followed by chiropractic adjustments, stretching exercises, and pressure point therapy (when necessary) go to work to relieve the troublesome pain.
In the case of migraines, adjustments are usually needed at case-specific intervals to keep headaches away. Nonetheless, if a headache ever becomes exceptionally painful, or is accompanied by a high fever, call your doctor immediately.
